Available Dogs BAILEY (19-001)
BAILEY (19-001) is a very special Golden looking for a very special home. She is 3 years old, weighs 65 pounds and is a sweet girl who gets along fine with other dogs and with cats. Bailey has hydrocephalus which makes learning difficult for her but with patience and consistency, she is able to respond to most basic instructions. She may not always seem cognizant of her surroundings but she is totally aware of her people, often laying her head on your lap or warming your feet under the kitchen table. Because of her learning disability she is not fully housetrained. Her foster family has managed this by making the kitchen her special place at night and when she is left at home alone and she happily goes to “her room” with her favorite toys and soft blankets. She has also been diagnosed with epilepsy and is on daily medication which has significantly reduced the number of seizures. Due to some leg instability and weakness, Bailey will need a home without stairs. Bailey would do best with a family where someone is home most of the day and without small children. She enjoys being outside where she can roll in the grass and play with sticks so a fenced yard would be ideal. Although Bailey’s special needs require a bit more effort than a typical 3-year-old Golden, the reward of being unconditionally loved by this girl is priceless.
