Available Dogs Ronald (23-018) and Reagan (23-019)
Meet 7 yr old RONALD (23-018) and 6 yr old REAGAN (23-019). They are a bonded pair looking to fill your life with TONS of love; they want nothing more than to give and receive affection. Ronald and Reagan have had an unsettled several weeks and are a bit anxious in new situations, especially when they are separated. They are currently on medication to help with this and may need to continue it for a time until they settle into their new home and a stable routine. Consistent structure and lots of love will help them relax and feel safe. The boys interacted well with a cat and are currently living with two other dogs, and they genuinely seem to enjoy playing; a game of fetch for Ronald and a little chase for Reagan. They are also content to just hang on the deck and enjoy the smells and fresh air.
Reagan is a little more outgoing with new dogs and people at the start and Ronald is a little more reticent, taking a little longer to warm up. The boys have excellent house manners. They are crate trained but have had free run of the house overnight without incident. Reagan likes to sleep on the floor beside the bed and Ronald is a little more solitary and tends to sleep on the main level by himself. Initially, Ronald and Reagan were quite skittish with new sounds and quick movements, but they are steadily acclimating to the sounds of a household. The boys are still nervous on walks; the normal sounds of cars and neighborhood cause them to react by freezing in place or quickly backing up. Because of this they will need an
experienced adult to handle them. This will likely resolve with a little time, practice and patience. Ideally, their Forever Home will have a calm environment without the activity and noise of young kids, will have someone home most of the day, and will have access to a safely fenced yard or deck where they can play and relax in the fresh air. These handsome dogs will be a wonderful addition to the right home; after a little time to settle in, be prepared to lose your heart quickly to these two sweet, gorgeous Goldens.
