Helping Our Special Needs and Long Term Fosters

The proceeds of all our raffles help support our Hospice and Permanent Fosters, whose severe or advanced medical conditions make them unadoptable.  These deserving pups stay in their foster homes for the rest of their lives, however long that might be, while they receive the care they need to feel happy and healthy and have a good quality of life.

Sometimes the care is simple; lots of love, the right food, and some meds and supplements to help ease their daily lives.  Other times the treatments and therapies can be intensive and long-term; oncology treatments, acupuncture, cold laser, chiropractic, therapeutic swimming, ozone therapy, specialized medicines, wheelchairs and prosthetics, etc.

GRREAT never turns away any Golden because of medical condition or age, and we do our best to find and treat any health issues, with an end goal of finding each dog their Forever Home.  For those whose conditions are too unstable, intensive, or life-limiting to leave their foster homes, they find their Forever Homes right where they are.

GRREAT needs your help to keep our commitment to these sweet and beautiful dogs, so we will be holding a series of raffles, big and small, throughout the year.

Here’s how it works:

Each raffle ball has a unique number on it.  When we receive your raffle order, we will pull out the number of balls purchased, write down the ball’s unique numbers next to your name, and place the balls in a separate bin.

The drawing will be held two days after the close of the raffle and the video will be posted on GRREAT’s Facebook page and Website.

The winning raffle ball will be picked by Special Needs Dog Molly 14-023.  Molly was born paralyzed from the waist back and, due to her condition, is susceptible to chronic, drug-resistant infections.  However, this does not keep her down!  One of her favorite things in this world are tennis balls and we can’t wait to see her eyes light up when she gets to run out and choose the lucky winner!
