Polo here with an update…
Well, I have a cancerous tumor in my rectum that needs to be removed, and the specialty Vet Team at UPenn is planning to do just that this coming Monday. First they will do a CT scan to ensure the cancer has not spread; and if that goes as planned they will do surgery on Monday afternoon or Tuesday morning! Their biggest fear is that I will become incontinent! Well that’s okay as I have been incontinent since I arrived in the US from Cairo, Egypt when I was just a year old.
The doctors said I would not make it to three years old! Well I proved them wrong with the great help of my rescuers in Egypt, Laila and Bahrain, Along with the amazing care and support of GRREAT. I would not be here today if it was not for everyone involved! I am now 9 years old, and as you can see by my photos, taken yesterday, I am still in great shape and going strong!
Now for the big ask!
1Please consider making a donation to GRREAT to help defray the cost of my surgery? Use the “Special Needs – Polo” line, so they know you sent it for me. You can click here to get to the donation page.
2. Please share this message with your Golden Retriever and dog loving friends in hopes they might be able to make a donation no matter how small or large.
The surgery procedure and associated costs are in the rage of $8,000 to $9,000, and GRREAT never says no to a Golden in need so they need your continued support.
Thank you all in advance for making such a positive difference in my life! It means the world to me!!
Love Polo xoxoxo
