APRIL (25-049) is a beautiful 3-year-old girl who is searching for a patient, loving home where she can truly thrive. She is shy when meeting new people, but once she feels comfortable, she becomes extremely affectionate, gentle, and devoted. April is very active and energetic and absolutely loves her daily walks. She walks well on a leash, handles stairs with ease, and does not chew on household items. She is fully housebroken and is food motivated, making continued training both easy and rewarding. She gets along well with other dogs and would love to share her home with an easy-going canine companion, but may also do well as an only dog if she gets lots of attention. Cats are an unknown at this time. April is crate trained and stays in her crate while we are gone from home, though she would be happiest if someone is home more regularly. She likes her crate and we leave the door open while home so she can go in at will, including at night when we’ll often find her sleeping in or near it.

April enjoys her car rides, hops right in and will settle in the back seat comfortably. A quieter, more experienced household with either adults only or with older children would be ideal, as she can be fearful around new people and may require careful introductions and care. She may counter surf for a tasty snack so keeping unsupervised food to a minimum and maintaining consistent boundaries will help her succeed. A secure, physically fenced yard is required so April can safely enjoy her playtime and exercise. With patience, structure, and love, April will reward her forever family with endless affection, loyalty, and companionship.
