BELLA (24-067) is a gentle, affectionate 8-year-old girl with a beautiful reddish coat and a calm, loving spirit, ready to find her forever family. Bella has quickly settled into her foster home, showing herself to be well-mannered and incredibly sweet. She’s wonderful with people and respectful of her senior foster sister. Although Bella loves being close to her humans, she is not overly demanding and is content to lie at your feet after some belly rubs and pets. Perfectly behaved in the house, Bella only chews on her toys, does not counter surf, and is comfortable being left alone with free run of the home. She gets a little excited to greet you upon your return, with adorable little hops, but settles quickly. With excellent leash manners, she’s a joy to take on walks and enjoys short half-mile to mile-long strolls that support her fitness. Though not a fetch enthusiast, she delights in some playful zoomies and rolling around in the yard.

Bella is in good health at 88 lbs, on daily thyroid medication, and has a goal to lose about 20 lbs through a vet-recommended diet and moderate exercise. Though Bella does get car-sick, despite motion sickness meds, her new family might consider shorter trips or alternative transport for vet visits. Bella would fit well into many types of homes, whether with a single person, couple, or family. She’s ready to bring love, loyalty, and her gentle spirit to a family who will appreciate her calm and loving nature. Bella’s ideal forever home would be one that is committed to her ongoing weight management journey and can provide her with moderate exercise, lots of love, and attention.
