BUTTERCUP (25-014)

BUTTERCUP (25-014) is a beautiful, cream-colored golden who weighs 60 lbs and will be turning two in July. She is a sweet and loving girl who is the perfect blend of playful and calm. Buttercup is well-behaved around the house and loves her crate, which gives her a safe space to retreat to when she feels the need for some quiet time. She prefers to sleep in her crate at night and to be crated when home alone, which isn’t very often. Buttercup loves being outside and playing in her safely fenced yard where she can stretch her legs and play fetch, and although she will sometimes dig in the yard if left to her own devices, she is easily redirected. She enjoys quiet walks and generally does well on the leash. She currently lives with well-behaved elementary aged children in her foster home and adores them, we think she would love a home with similarly aged kids who will play politely with her and give her the love and attention she deserves.
While Buttercup is friendly with other dogs we’ve encountered, she tends to be a bit submissive and can get overwhelmed in close quarters. She would probably do best in a home where she can have some space to get to know new doggy friends at her own pace. She can be a little skittish at times, especially with sudden noises; anything from a gate clicking or a floor creaking, to large trucks rumbling by or trash cans can cause her to jump then cower. Her reactions have greatly improved since being with us, so building trust over time will be the key with her new family. Buttercup is not a fan of car rides, she trembles and pants during the ride. She needs a quieter environment with a family who will be patient while she adjusts to her new life. If you’re looking for a gentle and well-mannered companion who will bring joy to your home, Buttercup might just be the perfect match for you.
