CALLY (25-004) is a classic Golden wrapped up in a 60 pound bundle of unbridled joy. From the time you wake up in the morning to the drumbeat of her thumping tail, till it’s time for bed, she gives everything she has. In her short 15 months of life, she has learned how to weave her way into everyone’s heart. Like many young Goldens, her obedience skills are marginal; she has poor leash manners and pulls like a tractor, but she’s ever willing to learn. On the good side, she is housebroken and not destructive at all (except for one small stuffed bunny.) She is affectionate to a fault with everyone and considers herself a lapdog. She always has a toy in her mouth, even when she is trying to bark at the trash truck. She and her foster sister love to play together in the yard by the hour. Unfortunately, they both get “Golden Retriever Brain” and can’t hear you when it’s time to come in until they are good and ready. A fenced yard is an absolute requirement, and she will ask to go out a lot. She would be ideally suited to a home possibly with another dog, children and lots of activity.

She is too active to be left alone all day. We have introduced her to several neighbor dogs and she has been as friendly as can be. She has been around children 9 yrs old and up but we don’t know about cats. She is an appropriate weight and healthy, although she has a small eye condition called cherry eye, where her 3rd eyelid has inverted. It does not affect her sight and is not uncomfortable to her so surgery is optional, routine and highly effective, if her new family is interested in pursuing it. We’ve left her alone for several hours at a time with no incident and she is happy as can be when we return. If you consider adopting Cally, please study up on what it means to own a Golden and be ready for all of the joys and frustrations; you will be rewarded in ways you cannot believe.
