Available Dogs arrow CHARLIE (26-008)

CHARLIE (26-008) is a 50 lb, 10-month-old puppy who checks all the boxes; he’s gorgeous, affectionate and full of personality. Charlie loves long walks, lots of fenced-yard play time, and a solid game of fetch. He is friendly to people and loves to play with other dogs, although his play-style is rough-and-tumble and he can sometimes overwhelm them with his exuberance. Indoors, Charlieis part explorer, part collector (shoes, socks, jewelry, anything within reach), part comedian (he growls and barks at himself in the mirror) and all goofball. He loves stuffed toys, though they don’t survive long and he loves chew-intensive toys and bully sticks. He’s not a fan of the crate but does well gated in his own space. He is fascinated by cats and wants to chase them. Charlie is a snuggler extraordinaire and loves to be petted. He considers himself to be a lap dog and insists on sleeping on the bed with his people. He is new to car riding but has gone on a few rides and is handling them like a champ. Charlie has boundless energy and no interest in conserving it.

A sibling dog would be a good fit if s/he matched his high energy and enthusiasm. Charlie also needs training from A to Z. This sweet boy needs a very active family with teenaged kids (or an adult – only household) so that people won’t get knocked down when he has the zoomies or leave their important toys where Charlie might claim them. His new family will need to be very active, home more often than not, and have the time and bandwidth to keep him busy, trained and tired. We are looking for a family with a fenced-in yard, possibly another dog who enjoys physical play or dog play dates with friends, and a family member willing to cuddle with Charlie at night. With some time and effort, he will be a fantastic family dog, with that signature Golden sweetness. Charlie is a truly special boy who will bring endless joy, laughter and love to the family ready to meet him where he is, and grow with him every step of the way.
