Available Dogs HALEY (25-016)

HALEY (25-016) is a 6 yr old cuddle bug through and through. She loves to be close to her humans and enjoys being petted. She is patient with the cat and adores her Golden foster brother. She has been on long hikes (4+ miles) and she did great. She loves car rides, trail hikes, and the water, and her foster brother is teaching her how to retrieve balls with good success. On walks through the neighborhood, she wants to say hello to everyone she meets and can pull strongly towards where she wants to go. With her 82 pounds, she needs a strong adult to hold her back so we are working on her walking manners and using a harness to help her walk next to her human and ignore distractions. A fenced-in yard would be ideal, but as long as she has plenty of long walks, she would do OK without it.

She is very food-motivated which is a big help in training. Haley is calm in the house and sleeps quietly when her people work from home. While she would be OK with a family that works outside the home, her preference would be that someone is home more often. We do not have any, but it is reported that Haley enjoys kids and would be ok in a kid home. She asks to go outside however, she has had a few accidents when she hasn’t gotten enough attention. Overall, she has been a super easy foster addition to our family. She is such an easy go lucky, wonderful dog when she feels loved and integrated, and she is still lively and curious enough to want to be in the middle of things. While calm and friendly, she is NOT a couch potato.
