Available Dogs arrow HONEY BAY (25-006)

HONEY BAY (25-006) is truly as sweet as Honey. She is a very easy-going, good natured 9-year-old but she has the energy and agility of a dog half her age. She is very pretty with her dark golden fur and cinnamon-colored eyes. At her perfect weight of 54 lbs., she is a smaller Golden. Honey Bay came to GRREAT because her aging owner wanted her to have the love and daily activity that she needs and deserves. Honey Bay was an only dog who was living happily with cats. She quickly adjusted to life here with her 3 Golden foster brothers and enjoys their activity. Honey Bay loves the routine of a morning and afternoon walk through the neighborhood. She is very good on a leash, and she knows her basic commands of come, stay, sit and paw.

She will do well in a home with a secure fence because she likes to chase those pesky squirrels, and she is quite the guard dog when barking at whatever may be wandering through the woods. Honey Bay does have the typical allergies of a Golden so she will need to stay on her Apoquel. She is completely house trained and will go to the door to ask to go out. She is not a chewer or a counter surfer, but she will shred a tennis ball or any toy with a squeaker in it. She loves to go for car rides. Honey Bay will follow you everywhere, but she does not have to be on top of you, just nearby; unless you are on the couch and then she loves a good snuggle. She will be fine in a house with kids. The ideal home for Honey Bay will be someone who will keep up her daily walks and be around for her during the day. A secure fence is preferred so that she has a safe area to explore and run around. She will be fine being an only dog, but she seems to enjoy the activity that other dogs bring. Her numerical age is deceiving, she is in excellent physical condition and has a lot of energy for her age. She will be a wonderful companion for a person or family who is looking for a dog that has all the best qualities that a Golden Retriever offers.
