MAVERICK (25-032)
MAVERICK (25-032) is a 2 yr old, 76 lb., bundle of energy. This sweet boy is still very much a puppy with puppy behaviors. He does get along with his foster brothers and sister but sometimes he doesn’t understand when to slow down or stop. It may be best for Maverick to initially be the only dog in the home until he can learn to curb his enthusiasm around other dogs. Cats are an unknown but with his all-out playfulness, probably not a great idea. A fenced yard is best so he has room to run and play safely to help with his energy level. Maverick will pull initially when on leash, but then will walk fairly well.
Any children in the home should be over the age of 13 yrs due to his size and boisterousness. Maverick does know basic commands, however, obedience classes will be required so he can work on his listening, social, and leash skills. He is crated for now when we’re not at home. This boy loves to play ball and chew on his other toys. Maverick loves riding in the car, looking out the window and watching as cars go by. Attention is something this sweet boy can’t get enough of, whether it’s getting his ears scratched or chest rubs; he’ll nudge your arm or place his head in your lap. A dog savvy adopter, who is home more often than not, would be best for Maverick as his behaviors at this age would be best understood. He’s waiting patiently for his forever home.
