Available Dogs MAX (25-012)

MAX (25-012) is an 80 pound, healthy, 5 year old deep red Golden who came into the rescue when his owner passed away. He has no bad habits, which is an amazing statement for a Golden. He obeys commands the first time and has a reliable “come” command. He is completely housebroken, does not bark much except when the doorbell rings, and doesn’t get on the bed – although he loves a good snuggle on the couch. He is good around other dogs and doesn’t jump on people. He is active, playful and enjoys a brisk walk. He enjoys being outdoors, and will willingly be up for any activities you plan. As with any Golden, a fenced yard is a must to allow generous outdoor time.

Children are attracted to him, and he always has a pleasant greeting for them. He’ll be great with children of all ages, but especially teenagers who can handle a larger dog. He would do well with a working couple, as long as he wasn’t alone all day every day. He has a gentle and kind spirit and represents the Golden Retriever breed well. His favorite place to nap is right beside you. He plays with his much smaller foster sister in a way where she always comes out on top. Visitors and guests in the house are greeted warmly, and most find themselves on the floor hugging him within a few minutes. He will bring a quiet dignity to his forever home, and unending love if you give him the chance.
