Available Dogs ROCCO (26-003)

ROCCO (26-003) is a loveable, talkative, and enthusiastic 5-year old, 72lb golden boy. He is joyful, playful, and friendly to an extreme. Rocco would LOVE to have canine siblings (cats are an unknown) to play with all day long. He is quite content to play by himself (he loves to knock balls around and chase them), but he is a very social and interactive boy. He is cuddly and stays near his humans most of the time. He is intensely observant of what goes on outside the house and loves to let everyone know if anything is happening. Rocco is an energetic boy, and despite reaching the age of full adulthood, he has the energy of a 2 year old golden and really needs regular activity with humans and other dogs to burn off that youthful energy. Rocco knows his basic commands (sit, down) and is eager to learn and please. He is still working on boundaries with both dogs and humans, like mouthing and mounting behaviors, and will be happiest in a home where the humans are all close to full size.

He is fully crate-trained and will go into his crate on his own. He sleeps with humans on the bed, near the bed, and in his crate equally well, although he is rather afraid of the dark – so a nightlight is a must. Rocco LOVES to go on walks, and enthusiastically engages with the world; the leaves, the squirrels, the grass, the birds, etc. He walks very well on a leash and will happily be a wonderful walking companion. Rocco is very food-motivated, and has strong counter-surfing tendencies, so counters will need to be kept free of food. Rocco rides extremely well in cars and is a very happy riding companion. He is fully housebroken and has gone for periods as long as 5 hours. Rocco needs a fenced yard. His enthusiasm for the world far exceeds his understanding of boundaries, and he is likely to run in enthusiastic pursuit of anything that he might see. Rocco is looking for a family that will love him, play with him, and help him become the wonderful family member that he so desperately wants to be. He will love that family with all of the love and energy that he can give
