Available Dogs WILLOW (24-081)

WILLOW (24-081) is a 2-year-old, 80 pound, incredibly friendly Golden Retriever. She’s always eager to play—whether with you or another dog—and has boundless energy for fun. She is currently overweight and would benefit from regular, energetic play sessions or walks to help her get in shape and shed about 15 pounds. When meeting new people or dogs, Willow will often sit or roll onto her back to invite tummy rubs, which she adores and finds very calming. She gets along well with all dogs, though she may need a moment to settle after rough play, but she would also do well as an only dog as long as she gets lots of attention. Willow enjoys people of all ages and has previously lived peacefully with a cat.

Though she still exhibits some puppy-like behaviors and loves constant play, Willow is fully house-trained and knows commands like “sit,” “stay,” “stop,” “come,” and “fetch.” She even sits politely for her meals. She loves games like fetch and tug-of-war, making her a great companion for playful dogs and children. A fenced yard where she could play safely would be ideal. She is very gentle with little ones, although it would be helpful if the kids are a little sturdy so they don’t get knocked down, and she remains calm around traffic noises or sirens. The one thing that she still needs a little practice with is walking politely on leash; she does pull on walks, but a harness helps manage her energy. She would benefit from basic obedience training and could learn a lot from being around other well-trained dogs. She’s incredibly loving and thrives on affection, and she loves to go on adventures and take car rides. Willow prefers to sleep on the floor and enjoys being near people, making her a devoted and lovable addition to any home. She barks to go out or to be walked and she currently gets three walks a day.
