HUCK (26-016) is a wonderful, 85 lb, 2 yr old boy; full of life, love, and happiness. He is friendly with everyone in the family but has shown a special affinity as a “Momma’s Boy.” Huckleberry gets along very well with his 4-legged foster brothers. He would love to have sturdy, playful siblings in his Forever Home that would like to wrestle, tug, and chase in a safely fenced yard. He loves to go on walks, especially with Mom, and responds well to a soft reminder when he forgets and starts to pull. He is reliably housebroken and gate-trained. He really wants to get on the beds and furniture but doesn’t jump up. Instead, he climbs up halfway and waits for his humans to lift him up the rest of the way; same for the car.

Huck is sensitive to loud or startling noises so he’s looking for a home in a quieter setting with a family who is able to provide companionship and a safe space for those times when thunder or fireworks boom or the vacuum threatens. He responds best to soft-spoken words so we will prioritize families without young kids. He has had anxiety-related gastro-intestinal problems in the past so we have taken steps to mitigate a reoccurrence. A healthy gut biome is a good foundation so we’ve added yummy plain Greek yogurt to his high-quality food, which he loves. We also speak to him with calm, happy confidence, to which he readily responds. Huck is an amazing boy who will continue to blossom in a loving home.
