Hi, I’m Emma and I’m a beautiful, wonderful girl. I’m a 4-year-old golden retriever. My birthday is 6/5/22. I weigh about 43lbs. I’m full grown, so I won’t get any bigger. I’m a GREAT size. I’m a purebred golden and came from a breeder where I was a breeding mom. Sadly, I spent most of my life in a pen just having puppies. I didn’t get much socialization with other dogs or humans. Recently, I was adopted by a nice family. When I went to my new home, I got my first bone and loved it. I’m a “collector”. I take toys and bones and tuck them away in my crate. I love my crate. It is where I go when I don’t feel safe. My mom leaves the door open all the time so I can go in and out at my leisure. I live with several other dogs now but it is not going well. I was not well socialized with other dogs so we are having some problems. Particularly, me and the other alpha dog don’t get along. I’ve started fights with her. It’s probably fear based. My mom loves me so much and is so sad to have to give me up. But for the safety of the other dogs in the house, I need to go to a loving forever home where there are no other dogs. So, I won’t be a dog park dog. I love people and am great with them – specifically adults. I have not been around children. I’m a little shy and need to build my confidence. Because I’m a Golden Retriever I shed a lot. I am crate trained, mostly house trained, and still working on leash training. I can get excited and pull every now and then. I stick to my mom’s side like glue. I’m happy, loving, and cuddly. My mom says that I am “pure joy and lots of love”. I don’t jump on people. I’ve got all the wonderful traits of a golden retriever but I just don’t do well with other dogs. I’m already spayed and up to date on my vaccines. I’m being fostered in Northern VA. I can be adopted to the DC metro area, the Richmond area and the Harrisonburg area. My foster mom will update my pictures and bio as I settle in.
My adoption fee is $450.
